Avengers Campus: Attractions
6 - Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Defense
E-Ticket
Must be 48 in.
This is the most intense coaster in the resort. It is pretty much a Guardians of the Galaxy overlay of Rock'n'Roller Coaster, where guests help the Guardians fend off a Kree invasion.
QUEUE:
Located in the back of the campus is the Nova Corps headquarters, which features a ship in front of it. Guests travel inside the building and pass through many rooms, such as an armory, a weapons room, and a "confiscated" room, where several easter eggs are hidden. Then, guests will wait outside to enter another room.
PRE-SHOW:
Guests enter a small room looking into a hangar bay, where the Guardians are tinkering on the Milano. Star-Lord notices the guests and points them out to his fellow Guardians, who greet them. Rocket wonders why they're there, but then Gamora reminds him that they're new recruits for the Nova Corps. The Guardians have been assigned to train the new pilots in flight, but before they can begin, they get an emergency alert from a Nova Captain, who says how the Kree are attacking Earth. Star-Lord reminds them that they have to do the training, but the captain says that this is now part of their training. With this, they allow the guests to come with them into action.
Guests then enter a hangar bay where they board a large Milano-esque ship. They sit down, put their belongings in a pouch, and pull their lapbars down.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
As the coaster moves up to the launch zone and prepares to take off, the Guardians explain the plan. They will attack some missiles before going towards the lead ship. Then, Rocket gives a countdown from five, but then skips one as the coaster takes off. As it goes through space, guests see projections of Nova and Kree ships battling, the Milano attacking missiles, and even the vehicle itself attacking missiles. Then, they head towards the main ship, but are quickly overpowered. Star-Lord tells the guests that they have a supermissile on board, which the guests fire at the ship. After blowing it up, the coaster returns to Earth and lands in the unload area as the Guardians congratulate them.
During the ride, one of six songs will play:
- "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult
- "I Will Survive" by Gloria Taylor
- "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind, and Fire
- "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen
- "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac
- "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John
POST-RIDE:
Guests exit into the Treasures of Xandar gift shop, which displays ride photos and sells merchandise themed to the Guardians.
7 - Avengers Adventures
E-Ticket
Must be 40 in.
In this motion simulator attraction, guests travel to many locations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they attempt to save the day. This is my ideal MCU attraction, and it is similar to Star Tours.
POST-RIDE:
Guests come into the Avengers HQ, going through several rooms. There is a room showing pictures of all of the Avengers, a room with gadgets, a room with weapons, a room with more Easter eggs, and a room with a Quinjet model (a Quinjet will be their ride vehicle.) Then, they will wait to enter a pre-show room.
PRE-SHOW:
Guests enter a large room where Tony Stark is standing on a balcony. He greets the guests, welcoming them as new recruits to the Avengers. But before they can start training, they get a call from Nick Fury, who says that they are needed to take care of a conflict happening elsewhere. Stark orders the guests to get to their vehicles, saying how things will be taken care of. However, before he signs off, Fury says that Bruce Banner is nowhere to be seen, so if they come across a rampaging Hulk, let him know.
Guests proceed into the simulator vehicle, picking up a pair of 3D glasses on their way. Then, they sit down in their seats, strapping themselves in and facing the screen.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The vehicles will first enter one of three sequences:
- Iron Man will lead them out, taking out a rogue robot as they go.
- Spider-Man will lead them out, dealing with some renegades with alien tech as they go.
- War Machine will lead them out, dealing with an army of Hydra Swarm bots as they go.
After that, the Quinjet will travel through the skies and end up in one of three locations:
- A battle with the Chitauri in New York City, assisting Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.
- A battle with Ultron in Sokovia, assisting Falcon, Vision, and the Maximoff Twins.
- A battle with vibranium thieves in Wakanda, assisting Black Panther and the warriors of Wakanda.
As they exit this battle, something unexpected will happen, each involving random guests:
- The Collector will call, saying how he has an escaped specimen on one of their ships.
- Agent Coulson will call, saying how a SHIELD agent is on their ship.
- Talos will call, saying how a skrull is on their ship.
They are about to escort them to safety, but something goes wrong and he Quinjet ends up in one of three locations:
- Asgard, where Thor enlists their help to fight against Hela.
- The Mirror Dimension, where Doctor Strange tries to protect them from some monstrous creature.
- The Quantum Realm, where Ant-Man and the Wasp must help them escape.
Finally, they get out of there and go into space. They receive new coordinates, which take them to one of three locations:
- Sakaar, where they rescue Rocket and Groot from the Contest of Champions.
- Titan, where they are rescued from Thanos by Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Mantis, and Nebula.
- Hala, where they help Captain Marvel rescue the Hulk.
During this final sequence, the Hulk will appear. After this, the Quinjet will head back to Earth and land back in the hangar bay. Guests will get a call from Tony Stark, who admits that they were impressive and congratulates them.
POST-RIDE:
Guests will exit their vehicle and walk through a passage. As they get rid of their 3D glasses, they will pass by a room full of wrecked cargo boxes, a shirtless Bruce Banner sitting in them. It is assumed that the Hulk crashed here after the ride. He talks to the guests as they enter the Avengers Supply gift shop.
8 - Avengers Station
B-Ticket
Any Height
Also in an ideal MCU attraction is an exhibition on the Marvel universe. Here, guests can view artifacts, take quizzes, and meet six different superheroes in two halls: Captain America, Spider-Man, and Black Widow in one hall and Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Thor in the other one. It also features two interactive features. "Become Iron Man" allows guests to virtually try on Iron Man suits and defend the city against rampaging robots. "Mysteries of the Mystic Arts" allows guests to practice spells with a sorcerer as their guide.
